Excellent
A great find ! The Barrington Guest House is ideally situated for the South Bay Area and for town shops. It’s only a five minute walk to the sea front or the main shopping area. Steve and Claire are fabulous hosts and an early check in was very much appreciated. On arrival we were notified that there was a slight problem with the room we had booked so we had been upgraded to one of the larger rooms at no extra cost. The guest house is lovely and our room and bathroom were finished to a very high standard and the bed was extremely comfortable. Another plus was two day on street parking for £5. Highly recommended.

Anniversary weekend away
As always we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Barrington Guest House. Claire gave us a warm and friendly greeting when we arrived oh and not forgetting Ralph( he had certainly grown since we saw him last time we stayed). The room we had was spotless. Can't fault anything. Hopefully see you again soon.

A Little Gem
A great find! The Barrington Guest House is ideally situated for the South Bay and for town. It’s a five minute walk to the sea front where you can get an open top bus round to the North Bay.The guest house is lovely and our room and bathroom were finished to a very high standard and the bed was so comfortable. Claire is a fabulous host and an early check in was very much appreciated. Another plus was two day on street parking for £5. Look out for the market hall near by … it’s fabulous.

We enjoyed our stay the separate private bathroom was a little uncomfortable especially during the night but we copedWe stayed during a very warm spell and the duvet was to warm if we were staying mor3 than the two days I would have requested a cooler duvet.The room itself was large and comfortable everything was there that we needed.Would recommend the Barrington and we would stay there again

Perfect
Absolutely loved this place. From the minute we checked in for an overnight stay and greeted by Steven, Claire and Ralph the gorgeous dog. Room was immaculate, bright and spacious with an extremely comfortable bed. Great also to have a mini fridge. The property was in an ideal location, easy access to sea front or shops or lovely walks. Wish we could have stayed longer. It didn't bother us at all that no breakfast is available as we like to be flexible so that suited us fine. All in all a great stay and hopefully we are able to book again later in year.

Beautiful Gem
Had a wonderful one night stay at the Barrington guest house. The owner was very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The room was perfect! Very modern and had added little extras like a mini fridge and safe. Spotless and clean establishment and the little doggie Ralphie was so cute ☺️ Would definitely Recommend and will most definitely stay here again in the future.

Beautiful little Hotel.
What can i say about this Wonderful Hotel in the back Streets of Scarbourgh.The Lady that owns was so welcoming , Friendly & a shear delight to talk too.The 4 Poster bed in my room was the best bed i have ever slept in.I cannot praise this amazing Hotel enough. I will be back here for sure next yaer if i can.5 out of 5....more like 10 out 10 for just being the best place i could have book. If you want a reaLLY cool place for a couple of nights, i highly recommened this hotel for sure.

Stopped here for the first time this bank holiday weekend. Fantastic place to stop location wise, really friendly and welcoming hosts. Can not fault the accommodation, clean relaxed B&B. Outstanding
Spent the weekend at the Barrington .Was placed in room 2, which was very clean and spacious. The shower room was next to the room on the landing,but as it was solely for us, that wasn't a problem. Shower was lovely and warm . Really enjoyed the breakfast,especially the fry up ( 10/10 for that). The owners do have a dog , but he's a real softie,so make a fuss of him. Overall the two nights were brilliant and would stay there again.

Perfect
Barrington House is situated just a few minutes from the beach and is just a short walk from the town centre. The room I stayed in was a surprise upgrade, with a four poster bed which was extremely comfortable. The bathroom is well lit and has a wonderful power shower. The owners are extremely welcoming and friendly. I even got to meet Ralph, their gorgeous puppy/househippo.

February Break
My wife and i have just returned from a wonderful weeks break at the Barrington. From our arrival to our sad departure, Claire and Steve provided us with a brilliant break. A fantastic full english every morning as well as fantastic room made the holiday. The location was brilliant for us as 2 minutes from the harbour. The hosts are carrying out upgrades to the rooms and we have booked one of these for our next break with them. Please try the guest house as you will not be disappointed.

A PLEASANT AND RELAXING STAY
My stay at the Barrington guest house was only for one night, but it was a pleasant, relaxing and enjoyable experience. My room was clean, comfortable and quiet, the three things that matter most to me. I will certainly look to stay there again on my next trip to Scarborough.

Great few days away
Just had 3 nights in the Barrington. The Hosts were lovely and couldn’t do enough for you.The accommodation was spotless and clean.Beds lovely and comfortable. We paid extra for breakfast and this was also lovely. We couldn’t fault the place and will definitely return. 5 minutes walk to beach or 5 minutes to the shopping centre. Tea and coffee facilities in the room and also a mini fridge.

Great Stay
Great place to stay, located in the town and 2 mins from the harbour. The room as was the rest of the residence, was spacious and clean. Full English breakfast was filling. Claire and Steve were great hosts. Nothing was an issue and very welcoming and friendly, and Ralph (the dog) was super cute. Will definitely come again.

Barrington b&b
What a lovely b&b, breakfast was lovely full English. We stayed in the attic room which was very cosy & clean. The bed was very comfortable, had 3 nights lovely sleep very quiet also. Claire & Steven are the perfect host's very socialable & very welcoming, I would definitely stay at the Barrington again, i would highly recommended it.

Fab and friendly
We initially booked for 3 nights but decided to book for an extra 4th night purely because we enjoyed our stay so much. Claire and Steve are great hosts, putting you at ease from the moment you arrive - helpful, friendly and informative about all the best places of interest to visit locally as well as where to eat out. The accomodation is superb, tastefully decorated and furnished and squeaky clean. Beds were incredible, so comfy and the bathrooms are modern, spacious and well equipped. Both Steve and Claire were really helpful in providing free parking permits for the duration of our stay and pointed us to the best place to park our vehicle. We look forward to returning again next time we come to Scarborough.

Easter break
What a lovely friendly guest house. Claire and Steve are so personable, little touches that made it extra special all guest receiving a treat at breakfast on Easter Sunday. Very clean and rooms done daily. Extra bonus parking permit close to quest house no fighting for a parking space.

Lovely stay at The Barrington Guest House
The Barrington is a lovely and cosy place. The location is ideal with a short walk to the front. Our room no.11 was beautiful decorated and modern, the bed was soft and comfortable. The hosts were always welcoming and helpful. We left on Easter Sunday and found Easter Eggs on our breakfasttable which was a lovely gesture. Would go again and recommend The Barrington to our friends. Thank you to Ralph for my doggy cuddle !!!

This guest house is second to none. It is beautifully decorated. The hosts were lovely and friendly. Only teeny weeny niggle they could maybe but complimentary biscuits in the room and maybe a hair dryer. Would most definitely recommend and would most definitely stay there again.

Spent one night there on27/02/23.Lovely clean pleasant accommodation.Nice breakfast.Very pleasant friendly hosts. The location is brilliant. The only possible problem IN season may be parking.

Excellent base for visiting scarborough
A short fri/sun stay with our children,Steve and his partner were very welcoming,they dont normally take children but allowed us to stay as a family Noah 8 and freya 10 months. Accommodation very clean and tidy,breakfast really tasty and we all enjoyed a deserved break,would definately recommend this hotel

As regular visitors to Scarborough, we decided to use an alternative place to stay. Our usual hotel had started to be neglected over recent years and we felt it was time for a change. We chose the Barrington Guest House after reading onlinereviews.This hotel is very tastefully decorated and is spotlessly clean. The breakfast was a cooked full English and was served with tea and toast. We were a two minute walk from the beach and around three minutes to the Town Centre. Several restaurants are within walking distance so the location makes it a perfect place to stay.The hosts were very friendly and polite and offered great service. We will definitely be booking again.

Loved the place
Me and my husband arrived at Barrington b.b and was greeted with a warm welcome from steve and Clairemade us feel right at home then they showed us to our room but was just to many stairs for my poorly knee so Steve put us in the floor below without any fuss.We had just a few hours round the shops before they closed.Woke up on Saturday morning with a lovely breakfast that set us up for the day would of been nice to have a chose of cereal as I am not a great lover of full English breakfast rooms where lovely and clean bed was nice and comfortable just not big enough for my hubby as he is 6ft 8inc but he managed ok will definitely return to see George.

Excellent stay.
My partner and I had a lovely weekend stay here. Chris and Claire are both friendly and professional. When I booked there was only the small room available. Chris made it clear it was the smallest room they had but we were happy to book it. It was grand for a weekend. The breakfast was delicious with quality products. Chris and Claire are like a well oiled machine serving guests at their allocated breakfast times. They do not have enough tables in the dining room to serve everyone at once. Staggering the breakfast times like they do means their focus is on you whilst they take your tea/coffee/toast order and organise your full English. You are able to have things like cereal if you let them know on check in. The guest house is a two minute walk from the seafront so an excellent location. There are steps up to the building and steps within to the rooms. I have issues with my joints and was ok with it. Parking is with a permit they give you to park on the streets behind. We were able to park within a short space of time not too far from the guest house. The room was very clean with a fridge provided which came in handy for fresh milk for hot drinks and fresh juice. George there puppy is adorable and was a lovely added bonus to the stay. We would definitely recommend and look forward to staying there again.

As usual we had a lovely stay at the barrington, Steve and Claire were welcoming and we enjoyed our stay very much. There was only one thing which affected our stay slightly. Whilst eating breakfast the tables were being cleared, sprayed and wiped, however the spray that was being used was very strong and covered our table, food and drink.It was a very strong floral smell which was quite nice but not whilst we were eating. Perhaps a no perfume cleaning spray whilst clearing breakfast tables would be better.Would not stop us returning and I hope we haven't offended by mentioning this.

The hosts Steve and Clare were friendly, helpful and always cheerful.We stayed in the quirky four poster bedroom that was full of character and history.The breakfast was delicious and very filling.The property is in a perfect location with easy and swift access to the beach, harbour and all other entertainment.Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short due to ill heath and Steve was compassionate, empathetic and veryunderstanding,We will be returning to Barrington as soon as possible .If you are seeking a perfect stay in Scarborough then look no further than the Barrington.Thankyou Janet and Peter

Clean, comfortable, and friendly
We had a lovely break here. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The inclusion of a small fridge was really handy. Breakfast was lovely - nice thick bacon and tasty sausages. The hosts are so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They have a great knowledge of the area and suggested so many great places we will have to go back to explore them all! Would heartily recommend and will definitely return.

2 day stay
The Barrington Guest House superb Georgian building in central location close to all amenities in the town. Steve and Clair lovely couple who take excellent care of their guests and nothing is too much trouble for them.We had a superb comfortable room with great en- suite and superb comfy bed, a safe, fridge and tea/ coffee facilities included. Full English breakfast included in price and a tasty start to the day, we have no complaints whatsoever a superb guesthouse we definitely will visit again. Thank youfrom John & Linda x

3 night excellent stay
We have stayed in Scarborough on several occasions in the past at various b&b guest houses, never ever went back to the same place twice, until now, booked a stay for end of month, we have had a fantastic stay at the Barrington guest house, our room was spotless, the bed was so comfy, our on suite was amazing, high end modern facilities, not to mention the 50" inch flat screen tv wall mounted, Breakfast was very good, full English cooked to perfection, two of all items very filling, location what can i say, on the beach within two minutes it doesn't get much better than that , you quite literally walk out the door, cross the road, walk down two sets of stairs and you are on south bay promenade all amenities at hand, and beach across road, free parking is also included when you book the Barrington, not to mention the real stars of this guest house, Steve & Claire our hosts, truly genuine lovely people doing a fantastic job in every way, would 100% recommend to others wanting a break in Scarborough.

Year after year we keep coming back. I cannot recommend this guest house highly enough. Claire and Steve are such lovely people Nothing is too much trouble.The Barrington is such a gem and the beach couldn't be closer.

Hidden Gem
After years of visiting Scarborough, we’d never looked up to this location even though we’d passed it literally 1000 times! We’re really glad to have stumbled upon The Barrington and will definitely stay again. The room was lovely, clean and nicely decorated with everything you need for a short stay in Scarborough. Easy parking and the best location to explore on foot. The hosts, Steve & Claire, were very friendly, welcoming and helpful and their dog, George, was a beautiful addition and he behaved impeccably. Coffee was good and the breakfasts were lovely (never had toast as good as Steve’s ghost toast before anywhere!) The vegetarian option was perfect, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone. We’ll be back again to enjoy The Barrington in the future. Thank you for making our stay so beautiful. XxxxxX

Steve & Claire are a lovely welcoming couple. The guest house was ideally located for everything in Scarborough. Breakfast was cooked fresh every morning with good quality produce. We arrived as strangers but left as friends
From when we arrived till when we left Steve and Claire were the perfect hosts nothing was too much trouble, our room was spotlessly clean and the en-suite had the best power shower we have had in any guest house we have stayed in, every morning the perfectly cooked very generous full English breakfast kept us full all day, and how can we forget George a real character.The Barrington is perfectly placed in the middle of the town shops and the beachfront, we will certainly be returning for another stat and would recommend this guesthouse to anyone

We had 3nights at rhe Barrington it's in ideal position everything is near to hand .The room was lovely the bed was so comfy.Steve and Claire are a very friendly lovely couple they made us feel at home .The breakfast was a good one plenty on your plate I had to ask for less unusual for me .They even let you take your own supper in and eat it in the dining room.We would definitely recommend Barrington you will not be disappointed. Clare & Steve were lovely hosts, very friendly and down to earth. They met us on arrival and informed us of the things we needed to know about the hotel and parking permit. We were taken to our room. They were available if we needed them.Hotel was very quiet, bright, beautifully decorated and very modern. Flowers in the entrance and a lovely fragrance throughout the hotel. Hotel very close to seafront. Our room was very clean, fresh with a very comfortable bed and lovely feather duvet. Tastefully decorated. Water and tea/coffee provided. The full English breakfast was delicious with two of everything which set us up for the day. We would definitely recommend The Barrington Guest House.

Spent a few days at The Barrington in July and cannot praise enough the welcome we received and the guesthouse itself. We had a lovely spotlessly clean room with tea and coffee making facilities. The owners were very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble and the breakfast was superb. Highly recommended by my wife and myself and will definitely visit again.

If you need a B&B in Scarborough this is the one. So clean and up market, such a friendly Couple not forgetting George the puppy, breakfast was fantastic and the comfiest beds ever, don't stay in the attick room if your tall as the beautiful quirky beams of the room are a bit low if your above average height but still a stunning room, definitely won't stay anywhere else and will be staying again soon xx

Fantastic Time
We were greeted by Steve who went through all the details of our stay.We were issued with a parking permit to cover us for our stay. If we had to pay for parking it would have been £10 per day.Steve showed us to our room which had tea/coffee and water,dressing gowns and slippers for our use during our stay.The room we had,the attic, which is their smallest room but more than adequate.We had a full english breakfast each morning which was excellent with fresh ingredients,cooked fresh and not the warmed up type you sometimes get at other establishments.The location of the guest house is perfect,just a two minute walk to the prom/beach.Steve is very knowledgeable about the area both for places to visit and eat out.Claire is a lovely host and keeps the place very clean and running like clockwork.We would like to thank Claire and Steve for our very enjoyable stay at The Barrington Guest House and we will certainly book againThank you

My partner and I stayed here for one night, it was probably the cleanest hotel I have ever been to, the place is immaculate..crisp white bedding with lovely accessories, beautiful room, very peaceful, lovely couple very chatty and helpful, breakfast was served and was excellent quality only thing missing was black pudding so 9/10 Steve 🤣 cleaning 10/10 Claire, 🥰 overall high standard, will definitely stay again (hopefully black pud on the menu) 😊 thanks for a lovely stay guys see you soon..

We had two very enjoyable days at the Barrington guest house over Easter. Claire and Steve were very welcoming and attentive to our needs and the accommodation was lovely, very clean and comfortable and included a delicious breakfast. Parking permit was supplied which was very helpful and the quest house is so well situated within easy reach of the front and amenities. .I would fully recommend a stay and send a big thank you to Claire and Steve and say we will certainly be visiting again..

My wife and I stayed at Barringtons for just the one night but we were very impressed by the room, the welcome and the breakfast. The location is ideal for exploring the town though parking can be tricky as it is everywhere in Scarborough.Would we stop again ? Absolutely

Thanks so much for a lovely couple of days at the Barrington.We loved our room in the new part of the guest house with its blend of modern and period features, particularly the shower, comfy bed and the fridge.The cooked breakfast was of a high standard with smashing sausages, despite the lack of cereal or fruit option to start.The only potential difficulty for some guests (and not mentioned in the literature) was the steep stepped access to the property and some steep steps in the house itself.However a friendly and welcoming guest house.

Wonderful stay
We chose this hotel mainly for its location. We've stayed in Scarborough many times but wanted to be more central and this was the ideal location for us. The place itself is delightful. The room are of the highest quality. Maybe a little more than other places but you get what you pay for right? Room 11 where we stayed was everything and more that you need. Roomy, large bathroom with amazing shower, the and coffee plus a silent mini fridge to keep your drinks (alcohol) cold. The hosts were welcoming and friendly and were more than accommodating. Great breakfast, all qualityproduce with a nice large mug of coffee. Parking permit provided for a nearby street, what more could you need. A bit thumbs up all round and definitely somewhere we'd try to book again.

Lovely guest house. Our room was Exceptionally clean and look like what was shown in the pictures. The bed was really comfy and the room had great amenities. The full England breakfast was lovelys and the hosts were welcoming, warm and very helpful. I am looking forward to returning.

We booked for a two night stay at the Barrington, we were greeted in a very friendly manner and made to feel comfortable throughout our stay with nothing being to much trouble. Breakfast was good quality and very enjoyable. We will definitely be going back.

Exceptional Facilities
From the start of the booking Steve and Claire made us very welcome. I contacted them to seek out information to parking at the guest house and within the hour I had received a reply.On the way to Scarborough we got caught in a traffic jam that would have delayed our arrival. I rang the then to inform them that we would be later than the agreed check in time. Again they were more than understanding. When we did arrive they were there to greet us, we were shown to our room. And wow what a room, the recently refurbished room was exceptional. The finish was amazing with all the small details that you would expect in a five star hotel. The bed was amazing with luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets and duvet. The room came with a mini fridge and safe which is well above what you would expect. The sockets next to the bed had USB charging points which again is amazing. The en-suite had the best shower I think I have ever come across. With a rainfall shower head that provided a wonderful experience and soft fluffy towels to dry yourself.The breakfast was of course a full English and again this did not fail to please. Freshly prepared for us with filtered coffee. This scrummy feast filled us up for the whole day. Steve and Claire made our visit one of the most enjoyable visits away. Steve went above and beyond what was expected when he washed my fleece which had become dirty on one of our walks around Scarborough.

Anniversary weekend break
Just back from another stay at the Barrington guest house met with a warm welcome by Claire and Steve also the lovely Ben he still remembered us bless him . We were asked what time we would like our breakfast 😋 which does not disappoint we were then showing to a lovely spacious room .Next morning met again with a friendly greeting and and then had our delicious breakfast which filled us up for the day . The Barrington is in my opinion in a prime location for seafront and shops and plenty bars restaurants near by as well.

Steve and Claire were very welcoming and couldn't do enough really.Shown to room, breakfast time agreed (full English with 2 of everything and delicious), informed about the parking (not too far away) and plenty of advise on where to visit.Room was superb, tea and coffee available, bottled water, flat screen tv with Netflix etc. Fridge and safe also available. bed was supper comfortable and mattress so thick you needed steps to climb onto the bed (literally).About a minutes walk from the beach and harbour and short walk to the north bay and other attractions.Would definately stay again if visiting Scarborough.

A large house converted into guest rooms with en suite
The couple who run the guesthouse are friendly, welcoming & helpful. The rooms are large, airey & modern with en suite, except the attic room. Breakfast is included in the booking cost which comes as either; standard English or the vegetarian option. They do cater for specialist dietary needs but you should inform them on booking your room. I think a nice touch would be to leave a little paper menu of the breakfast options available. You would then be able to order breakfast for the following day, if you require one. We stayed in the attic room which has steep stairs straight to the room door. This made entering & leaving the room a little difficult. Also no en suite with that room, only toilet. Private shower & toilet back down that flight of stairs. Useful if you both need the loo at the same time. Lol. Pleasant stay in central Scarborough 2 minutes from the beach on harbour side.

The location of this guest house is excellent.The owners are really helpful and provided us with a parking permit and early check in.They are really friendly and make you very welcome.The place is very clean and freshly decorated.The breakfast are lush and they provided us with excellent vegetarian option for breakfast.Our room was really spacious and had a wonderful bed that gave us a perfect nights sleep.Ben the Rottweiler is so nice and friendly and was no bother at all.We really enjoyed our 3 day stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Immaculate, Cosy and Welcoming
The Barrington was everything we expected it to be..... immactulate, cosy and welcoming.The owners were tentative and extremely personable; nothing was too much for them to make your stay one to remember.Our room was on the second floor in the new part of the guest house.It was immaculate with a four poster bed; wet room; digital tv and excellent finished decor.The room was airy yet warm as it was the beginning of October when we visited.The breakfasts were thoroughly enjoyable and of an extremely high quality produce ranging from fresh orange juice and a full English breakfast. We stayed for two nights but wished we had stayed for longer however we will definitely be re-booking another stay in the new year.Thank you very much for a wonderful stay and we have already been passing on your details to our friends and family.Keep up the excellent work and you have two long term visitors with us..... see you in 2022!

A very enjoyable break
We booked at short notice so refurbished rooms not available. Steve explained their plans for small double en-suite we stayed in that will make it much more spacious.We also had a guided tour by Claire of rooms that have been redecorated & were very impressed with high standard of fittings. Very good full English breakfast. Location is excellent, just a couple of minutes walk to seafront. Permit for free parking was also much appreciated. Very friendly atmosphere & would be more than happy to stay again.

From arriving to leaving nothing was too much trouble for the owners Claire and Steve. They went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and to ensure we had an amazing stay.We stayed in room 11 and it was decorated to an extremely high standard with quality furniture (especially the bed) and the walk in shower was out of this world. The breakfast was lovely and Steve even had mayonnaise for me.They are perfectly situated only a few minutes from the beach and town. Albeit the proprietors are in the process of a regeneration project having completed the next door property which looks amazing, the current part is tired but clean, the bed was fab! Steve and Claire were friendly, kind and helpful, even Ben the big soft dog was lovely!I will not hesitate in booking there again, and wish them good luck in their next part of the regeneration once completed it will be a fabulous place for people to stay.

Stayed 6th-11th august, great short break. Had one of the new larger rooms very comfortable with en-suite bathroom.Great full English to start the day. Always got to see the lovable Ben post breakfast. Hosts Steve and Clare were friendly and always happy to give information on how to get around and which restaurants were good to visit.The only negative was Scarborough very quiet in the evenings this could be due to covid and next year as we get back to normal may be very different.

Had a lovely few days in the Barrimgton hotel wanted to stay longer but because it’s so clean and comfortable and a lovely couple that run it it’s always popular with people only one problem was sea gulls so noisey that was the only way I could get out of bed ???? because so comfortable had a lovely breakfast really enjoyed it thanks lovely two day break

Enjoyable stay. Room was a bit small, but was very clean, had new furniture and a had a great rain style shower. There were some issues with the internet when we arrived, but the host put us on another network that i think was right outside the door, and there were no more problems. Huge tv, with Netflix and Amazon Prime, and the fridge in the room was very handy. Parking was in a selection of streets a few mins walk away, but we had no problems with that.Owners were very nice and friendly. All in all, an enjoyable stay.

Very Clean, Very tidy, Very Friendly and Quiet
We could not have stayed in a nicer place, the hospitality was faltless. Our Quirky room was so lovely decorated with kissing swans on the bed and a towel lily pad in the bathroom, the bed was heaven to sleep in the bedding of superb quality. Breakfast was well presented very tasty (especially the bacon) lots of it, (set me for the day). The accommodation was behind the front but on the hill ideal if you wanted to go down many snickets/steps or road to the front or very short walk up hill (slightly) for all the shops/pubs/restaurants. Will definitely be staying again and would highley recommended ????????????

We have just had the most enjoyable 4 nights stay at the Barrington and loved every minute. From the moment we arrived, Steve, Claire and Ben the Rotty made us so welcome - the perfect hosts. Our room was immaculate with quality furnishings and the most amazing, comfy 4 poster bed. Steve served a delicious full English breakfast each morning with tea, toast and orange juice. It certainly set you up for the day! Parking permits are given for street parking and we always managed to find a space close by.Staying at the Barrington is a must and would definitely recommend. From arriving to departing it was 1st class, steve always on hand to help and tell us where to go etc. Room, breakfast, location spot on and but the main attraction was was Big Ben, such a wonderful stay. 100% would tell people to stay at Barrington ????

Our first time in B&B
This was our first time in a B&B and we chose the best. We booked The Barrington Guest House for 4 nights, From our check in on 21st June to our check out on 25th June, our stay was brilliant. We had a few very minor hiccups to start with but it was all sorted. The location is excellent only 4 minute walk to the seafront. Exceptionally clean and the decor is beautiful, full english breakfast every morning which was cooked to perfection. We were issued with a parking permit on arrival to park in the allocated streets, we always found room to park in the street at the back of The Barrington which was so easy to walk through a little alley way back to the Guest house. They have a gorgeous dog called Ben who is adorable and so well behaved. We loved our stay here but would have liked a bigger room, but our room was lovely the ensuite was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable we could not fault it. Thanks again to Steve and Claire for making us feel so welcome during our stay and I'm sure we will be back. Brilliant, a rose amongst thorns
We were made exceptionally welcome on my surprise birthday weekend to celebrate my 50th. Everywhere was very clean and smelt lovely. The cooked breakfast was really enjoyable, especially the sausages...!! Loved it all. Can't wait to return. Thank you so much. Lynne & Chris Poole

An excellent stay
My second stay at Barrington guest House and once again a brilliant experience. The owners couldn't do enough for us and went out of there way to ensure that our motorcycles were parked safely and under cover which was really appreciated. Fantastic place and great owners.
Just spent 2 nights here and was very impressed,Steve the host was extremely friendly and helpful,the location was excellent with free parking on adjacent roads with a supplied parking permit.The only negative was we were put in the smallest room on the hottest weekend of the year,with no access to open any windows making it unbearable to sleep well.Apart from that we had an excellent time and would definitely return again,thank you Steve and Claire for a most enjoyable stay and good luck in the future.

Very friendly hosts, avoid room 7.
First of all, they were great hosts and extremely pleasant.We were fortunate that we were able to book a room at the last minute when we decided to extend our stay in Scarborough after a nightmare journey to get to Scarborough that wrote off the first day of our stay.However, Room 7 is a small double room that the hosts intend to knock through to the single room.The room is too small for a double room.I accept they intend to develop so this should not put you off attending, just avoid room 7!Excellent location next to the beach.

Perfect place to stay
We had such a lovely weekend staying at the Barrington guest house. The location was perfect for both the sea front attractions & the town. The room was beautiful & had everything we needed.Steve & Claire were very friendly & helpful if we needed to know anything. There was also the added bonus of Ben the dog who was so chilled out!We would definitely recommend staying at the Barrington & will certainly be booking to go back soon.

Stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms, what can I say it is beautifully decorated, super comfy bed, spotless. Our hosts where friendly and helpful. Breakfast is lovely. We have stayed before and will be staying again.

Superb from start to finish
Booked a 4 night stay here but due to a mix up had to change the date,so phoned direct and the lady owner ( Claire ) couldn't have been more helpful with our request to change.The Barrington is in an excellent location close to just about everything. The room we had ( room 4 ) was delightfully furnished with tv, tea coffee kettle and enough space for clothes etc..The full English breakfast was absolutely top notch with 2 of everything, although after a request from my wife that it was too much and could she just have one of everything Steve ( the male owner ) did so with no fuss, also making scrambled eggs on toast for other guests without a problem.They are currently in the process of renovating the property next door to expand and they give us a sneaky preview and it certainly will have the "wow" factor when it is completed in the very near future, so good luck to them both with that. Would have no hesitation whatsoever about staying here again,was everything you could want with a whole lot more and a lovely couple to boot Thank You once again Claire and Steve it was an absolute pleasure

Fantastic hosts which make you feel very welcome. The location is perfect, you are near to everything and can park for free close to the the hotel.The breakfast was a lovely full English and they ask if you would prefer an alternative but I highly recommend the full breakfast.Ben their dog is very well behaved and will only come and greet you if you are ok with dogs which they ask on your arrival.Room 1 was spacious and had everything we needed for a fab 2 night stay! We will be back for another visit!

Couple of days break
Well located, three minutes walk down to beach on south side. Then 10 minutes up bank to main street for shopping / train station. Room was very clean and the bed was comfortable and had good nights sleep. Breakfast was good and Steve even did fried bread for my very picky husband. Would stop again. Both Claire and Steve are very friendly and helpful. And them keeping to COVID 19 regulations is very good.The only niggle we had was the shower kept going on and off all the time when we were in it and it was hard to get reasonable temperature. But from what I gather this will be updated in the future.

This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. The guest house is in a fantastic location within easy walking distance of the beach and the numerous attractions Scarborough has to offer. Claire and Steve are superb hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Our room was large and spotless and the bed very comfortable. The bedding too felt very soft and luxurious.Very tasty full English breakfast every morning to start the day.I highly recommend The Barrington an have already booked for next year.

Lovely mini break.
Stayed at the Barrington for 3 nights.We were met at the car by Steve as we got a little bit lost.Steve, Claire, Oliver and Big Ben made us feel extremely welcome.We stayed in room 10,it has an ensuite toilet and wash hand basin and the shower room is just down a few steps. The room was very clean, beautiful crisp bedding and a very comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room with a view across the rooftops towards the castle and church.Breakfast was a full English, toast with jams, orange juice and tea or coffee.When all the guests had eaten Steve and Claire and Big Ben sat with us all giving us advice and tips on what to see and do and the best places to eat. We really felt part of the family.Both Bill and I would recommend The Barrington to any of our friends.Thank you for a lovely stay.Helen and Bill. X

A little pick me up
From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with a warm and friendly greeting. The room was clean modern and spacious. Nice touch with some jelly beans in a little jar. The hosts Steve and Clare go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Close to the beach and all amenities your never shirt if things to do.Steve also pointed us in directions for some lovely walks and if your up and about early you may see dolphins and seals. Would definitely recommend and will be going back oh and you must say hi to Ben the big softy dog who would appreciate a sausage if you can’t finish all your breakfast.

Lovely hotel with friendly owners, perfect for children.
My mum and I had a last minute trip to Scarborough with my 1 year old and chose this hotel due to the proximity of the beach and the reviews. The hotel is absolutely spotless, the beds were comfy, the rooms spacious and the breakfast was really tasty. The owners were really accommodating with my daughter, they provided a travel cot and high chair for breakfast, which were really handy as we came by train. As the beach was so close we could just stroll down without taking the pram everywhere. We will definitely be back, thank you very much. X

A warm welcome greeted our arrival on a wet,cold friday evening. Me my partner and little one (2 years old) booked last minute to surprise my mam who was staying. The surprise was kept quiet and went down well. We arrived mid afternoon and were warmly greated by Steve and Claire . Quickly showed to our room which was excellent and the fascilities explained. They couldn't do enough to help eg booking taxies. Excellent breakfast cooked to order would definitely return

Lovely weekend stay
B&B is ideally located near the beach, two minute walk, and rooms are clean and tidy, and spacious. We had to take our son at last minute but this wasn’t a problem, they quickly put an extra bed in our room and only charged coppers for his stay. Breakfast was a full English which was lovely and presented well, as well as a choice of cereals and preserves. New owners since our last stay but doing an excellent job. Would definitely return.

Such a brilliant, comfortable and welcoming guest house we’ve ever stayed in. Before we even left me and my other half had already promised to stay here again! Felt welcome from the moment we arrived and the moment we left. Ideal area, clean throughout, amazing hosts and an over all great experience. I couldn’t rate this higher!

Had an amazing weekend in Scarborough, went to watch Il Divo. Stayed here, what a great guest house Steve & Claire made you feel like you've stayed there before, so very friendly, the beds are very comfy top of the range duvet and bedding,(going out to buy the same) the rooms are very very clean, breakfast very good & Tasty, One problem! they will not let you take Ben home with you, When you stay you will find out, Ben is the most gorgeous softest dog you will ever meet, you will fall in love with him, Be warned lol. Thank you Steve & Claire, you made our stay very Enjoyable, we will be back.

Although we only stopped for one night our hists coukdnt do enough for us. Room very spacious clean and comfortable. Breakfast plentiful and tasty. On street parking not an issue managed to find a space a few streets awat.

Fantastic
It's fantastic. The new owners used myself and Anjii as test subjects. The rooms are spotless thanks to Claire, the breakfasts are excellent thanks to Steve. Will happily book to stay here again as your made to feel part of the family. Don't go to the Grand or Travelodge further up the hill as one is outdated and falling to bits and the other over priced and sterile. The Barrington is just spot on and well worth a visit and will make you feel at home

My son (Scott Free) and his partner(AnjiiRoberts) stayed there the first week it opened under new management and were full of praise for the new owners. We stayed there for 3 nights just before the new owners took over and it was a lovely room and we were very comfortable. A very comfortable stay
We received a very warm welcome, breakfast was very good and the room was clean, tidy and comfortable. We had an very nice stay.

First class
This guest house is situated very close to the seafront and within easy walking distance of the town centre and theatre. I booked two double rooms which were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Ours had lovely deco and complementary toiletries in the bathroom. The breakfast, which we could select the night before, was abundant and well cooked. I cannot fault this establishment and would definitely come again. The only problem would be for a person with mobility issues as there are a lot of steps up to the entrance and narrow stairs in the guest house itself.

Excellent! Clean and friendly. Good breakfast, coked just the way we liked it. Position is good, near prom. near RNLI boathouse and only a few minutes walking to town centre. Have been before and will certainly go again.

Great bnb
A very nice bnb close to all south beach has to offer and at a great price. The place was very well kept anf well presented. Upon arrival we had a very warm greeting. Free parking was a bonus and the breakfast lovely even tho we did come down early for it. We will definatily be stopping here again in the very near future hopefully.

Wonderful holiday
We stayed at the Barrington while on a short holiday. The welcome we had was wonderful.Val made us feel very welcome. We arrived early, not a problem the riom was ready. Lovley room, very clean, comfy bed, everything you needed. The whole house was warm, cosy and made you feel at home. The breakfast was amazing-best we have had in a guest house without doubt. We will definitely be booking to stay here again.Val is a wonderful host- thanks

Friendly host.Very comfortable and spacious room. Felt more like staying in a relatives house rather than a guest house, had a personal touch to the décor which was very tasteful. Breakfast was excellent. Only problem was finding somewhere to park.

A truly pleasant stay
What a fantastic time me and my fiance had staying here. The host was very welcoming and helpful upon our arrival, the room itself was remarkable, spotless and had everthing we needed, and the main bathroom was not too far at all. The only downside was the climb to the top, but other than that the room was lovley and comfortable. Our breakfast were delicious,I was very impressed to see that we could pick from a list of breakfast items we can have on our plates, and we weren't short of coffee or tea. After our stay I was delighted to find out that we could buy a parking permit for a day to spend a little longer in Scarborough. Our stay at this B&B has really made our experience complete. We cant wait to come back.

Brilliant little guest house
We have stayed at the Barrington for the last 3 years now. Every year the staff have been friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfasts are delicious and the rooms have always been clean and comfortable.

Home from a home
Fantastic location right in the city centre and less than five minutes to the beach, shops and restaurants with a lovely home-from-a-home feel. Great breakfast included in room price, free wifi and free on-site parking.

Great central b&b in scarborough
Only stayed one night but would def recommendCentral position but a bit hard to find. As soon as you are on Eastborough look for some steps with metal railings on right hand side ( if you are coming from prom). The b&b is up these steps. Lovely house, original fittings and nicely decorated. Clean, Comfortable, spacious room and bathroom. Comfy bed.Loads to eat for breakfastHosts are friendly and charming.Hosts gave us a token for on street parking. What's not to like!Would recommend to anyone and look forward to a repeat visit.

The Barrington
A great guest house with a very friendly atmosphere,the breakfasts were terrific and free parking within a two minute walk. The room and shower room were both clean, quite spacious and very central to both the shops and the beach, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Found the guesthouse very clean and tidy,and the hosts warm and friendly. Breakfast was delicious,thank you. The only down side for me was,that the bed I had was too hard. But that's only my opinion. wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to others.

Me and my partner stayed for a weekend and had a fantastic time. The hotel was very clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was to die for. Staff were extremely friendly. Location was spot on for everything, shops, restaurants, sea front, bars. What more could you ask for? Definitely recommend it and definitely will return ourselves.

Nice friendly B+B. Great location, a minutes walk down some steps to the Front and plenty of places to eat and drink within a few minutes walk. Our room- no.4 - was comfortable, clean, bright and spacious. The toilet - a macerator - was a bit noisy and the 45 minute slot for breakfast was rather limited. Would recommend.

The place to stay
The room we stayed in was a lot better than expected,it was very spacious very clean and lovely decor,we were more than impressed well worth the money. Only a 2 min walk to the beach so you don't have the hassle of trying to find a parking space,the owners are very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend the barrington we will definitely be staying there again

Lovely stay with warm welcome. Room was very nice and breakfast was brilliant. A little noisy as we were on the front, but this is the pay-off for being so central. Couldn't ask for a better location!Took our dogs and this was no problem at all and no ridiculous surcharge for this. Really enjoyed our stay.

I booked a last minute trip with my teenage son and we couldn't rate the accommodation any higher.The room was spacious, modern and clean; the staff were extremely friendy; the location of the guest house is conveniently situated to the attractions (my son had a broken leg) and Scarborough is GREAT!! We hope to be back without the cast so we can hit the waves!

We have just returned from a couple of nights at the Barrington.What a smashing guest house.We stayed in room 4 which is a double with its own large shower room.It is well decorated, clean and tea and coffee making facilities providedBreakfast was spot on.We enjoyed our stay and will recommend to other people and we would definitely stay there again.

Very nice
We booked this at the last minute the night before and when we arrived we were made very welcome by Valarie. The Hotel is in a very good location, only a few minutes walk from the seafront and the town. Our room was on the top floor with an attic window, there was a lovely view of the castle. There was tea and coffee making facilities, a chocolate mint, biscuits and a bottle of mineral water. The only fault was no on suite bathroom which all the other rooms had. But with it being a last minute booking and at a very reasonable price, you can't complain. We have been visiting Scarborough for many years and stayed in several different hotels. The Barrington had by far the best breakfast I have had. Very big with two of everything and delicious. We will definitely be visiting The Barrington again soon.

We were very happy with both the accommodation and the staff at the Barrington. We felt very welcome and would definitely consider staying here again. The room was very clean and well looked after and the breakfast very well prepared. It is also very reasonably priced considering the prime location only a 5 minute walk to the sea front. Valerie and her family are very pleasant and welcoming and the service you receive is secondto none. Breakfast's are well prepared and caters for all including pets. Would I return, YES without a doubt if we were twenty years younger with no back trouble! to many hills, but this comes with old age, good thing is I've heard it doesn't last long. Thanks Val x
